Antistatic floors

Conductive and dissipative coatings for protection against static electricity.

Antistatic floors dissipate static electricity and protect equipment, products and staff. We install conductive and dissipative polymer floors — both in new builds and during the refurbishment of working plants — including the earthing loop and a resistance measurement on handover.

Antistatic floors

Two types of flooring

A conductive floor drains the charge into an earthed copper loop — the solution for areas with strict ESD requirements. A dissipative floor is more economical: antistatic additives go into the finish layer and the charge escapes through humidity in the air. We select the type based on the room class and the equipment requirements.

Where they are used

  • Electronics and microelectronics
  • Pharmaceuticals and clean rooms
  • Automotive manufacturing
  • Laboratories
  • Medical facilities and operating theatres
  • Data centres and server rooms
  • Chemical industry
  • Precision instruments and manufacturing

What we take into account

  • Loads — dynamic, static and vibration
  • Temperature and humidity conditions in the room
  • Equipment moving across the floor: forklifts, trolleys, robots
  • Stage of works — new build or refurbishment
  • Required electrical resistance of the coating

Coating resistance

Conductive coatings measure 10⁴–10⁶ Ohms, dissipative ones 10⁷–10⁸ Ohms and insulating ones above 10⁹ Ohms. The required range is set by the plant's own regulations. After installation we measure the resistance and hand the results over with the documentation.
